This beautiful chart shows the top 20 foods on the ANDI scale.
The Aggregate Nutrient Density Index (ANDI) was created by Dr. Joel Fuhrman and explained in his book, Eat for Health. The scale measures the nutrients per calorie in different foods. The foods registering highest on the scale offer the most nutrients for the fewest calories – the biggest bang for your nutritional buck.
I’m happy to see that I eat a fair amount of the top four high scorers, but I clearly owe green peppers and iceburg lettuce an apology. Who knew?
Congrats on this lovely and informative new blog, Sara! I’m a fan 🙂
Thank you!!
Ok, I too eat lots of those foods. But Kale and Collard Greens? Aren’t they poisonous????
Only to men.
I actually love most of these foods and would rather eat them. Now if I can just remember to stock up on them at the store and actually include them in my daily diet.
Amen Teresa! And eat them before they go bad and I have to clean them out of my fridge cooler drawers with a damp cloth! lol!
